City girls Chloe Taylor & Flora Clark have performed brilliantly at the recent Henley Women’s Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta.
Chloe is currently a Year 12 pupil and has been rowing as a junior with Lea Rowing Club for several years. This year, she has been training with the senior women’s squad, and gained a place in the club’s women’s first VIII entry for Henley Women’s Regatta. This has involved Chloe in a high level commitment to training with the squad, several evenings a week and at weekends, which she has managed very effectively.
Henley Women’s Regatta is a major annual rowing competition, held on the same course as Henley Royal Regatta, over three days 19th to 21st June. The event has a very high standard, drawing some 400 entries from clubs across the UK and internationally.
The Lea first crew, including Chloe, went on to win the Club Eights event, from a field of 14 crews, beating an excellent crew from City of Cambridge in the final. This is a major achievement for the club and for Chloe.
