Silver medal for City girl at Commonwealth Games

15 year old, Tin-Tin Ho, has been awarded a silver medal for her doubles table tennis performance along with Liam Pitchford at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The City girl has trained extremely hard in preparation for the games, two hours a day, six days a week with her brother and father. Tin-Tin has been successful in a number of recent competitions and was delighted to be selected for the Commonwealth Games squad. She is currently the most active player in the world, competing in 126 competitions last year.

The City girl has trained extremely hard in preparation for the games, two hours a day, six days a week with her brother and father. Tin-Tin has been successful in a number of recent competitions and was delighted to be selected for the Commonwealth Games squad. During the games, she played remarkably well in both single and doubles competitions. Tin-Tin and Pitchford’s gold medal decider match against husband and wife team Paul and Joanna Drinkhall ended in a 11-7, 11-3, 5-11, 10-12, 11-5 defeat. The mixed doubles competition was dominated by England, winning gold, silver and bronze medals in the Commonwealth Games for 2014. The strength of England’s table tennis team was clear in their winning 5 medals throughout the games. Tin-Tin’s mixed doubles partner, Liam Pitchford, also won bronze for England in the singles.

At 15, Tin-Tin has shown exceptional maturity and promise for upcoming competitions. She has reflected, “[t]his has been a great experience” and we very much look forward to what the future holds.
