Pulse Dance Company took part in their first ever dance competition last week. The 16 students from Year 7 and 8 competed in the London Youth Games grand finals at the Copper Box Arena. This was a fantastic venue with 25 schools from 25 boroughs taking part.
Each school had to produce a four minute dance based on a chosen theme. The girls performed a contemporary dance based around the Australian bush fires. They danced with poise, emotion and beautiful expression, finishing in 10th position; a fantastic success for their first event.
Earlier in the year, the company also took part in a workshop at Laban Conservatoire. They had a tour of the world-class facilities and a dance class led by a professional dancer. Well done to everyone involved.
