In the first Group phase City beat Croydon (4-0), squeezed past Camden (3-2), but then lost, to last year’s winners, Bexley (2-5) as well as Ealing (4-6). However, this meant that City finished 3rd in the Group so progressed to the third place play-offs and the girls lifted themselves to beat Hammersmith & Fulham (4-3) and Southwark (3-2) in very close games. This meant that City finished winners of Group 3 and were 9th overall out of 33 boroughs. This is an immense achievement especially as they were a Year 7 team playing against mainly Year 8 teams.
The girls received a trophy for their great effort, well done.
