Each year a student video competition is organised by the Political Studies Association, in partnership with YouGov.
This year the theme was ‘climate change’ and back in October students were asked to submit videos surrounding this theme. Due to the turmoil in British politics during December, the competition had to be postponed to 4 March. Lily Drake and I decided to enter and we were shortlisted into the top four, and were invited to the House of Lords this week to present our video in front to a panel of judges, including Baroness Hayman, the founder of ‘Peers for the Planet’.
We were asked to show the video and present a short speech, followed by a short Q&A by the judges. After the judges’ deliberation we were extremely pleased to hear that we had won the competition and would therefore be getting two weeks of work experience with YouGov. It was a very exciting completion and Lily and I were very pleased to win it!
