On 13 February, 50 girls and five teachers set off to Norway on the annual CLSG school ski trip. The flight to Oslo took just over two hours, followed by a five hour transfer on a funky double decker coach to the small skiing village of Geilo. It was a long first day’s travel, and when we arrived we were all very tired but the next morning we woke up early, eager to start skiing.
The weather was mostly fantastic - even though one day there was a snowstorm - but it was definitely an experience not to be forgotten! We all quickly got into our skiing as all of the slopes were great fun, with something for everyone whether you were a beginner or an advanced skier. Our hotel was also wonderful and everyone loved the food – especially the chance to make your own waffles each morning for breakfast. Each evening, we had many exciting activities such as going to the cinema to see ‘Little Women’ or going bowling or participating in our own mini Winter Olympics. The highlight of our trip was on the last afternoon when we took a husky ride around a frozen lake at sunset. It was a perfect way to end the trip.
On behalf of all the girls that went on the trip, we would like to thank Ms Lambert, Mr Wilkinson, Mr Wright, and Ms Brincat for taking us, and a special mention to Mr Ward who organised the trip for us.
