Following the success of last year’s Mock Trial, City held its second on Wednesday 20 November, this time involving the theft of Matilda's guitar. On trial was Zara, a Year 12 student.
With appearances from CLSG alumni Artemis and Lou, the trial showcased expert witnesses, triangulation exhibits and malicious texts. Both the defence and prosecution carried out cross examination, building up their respective cases through discovery of evidence. Years 11-13, the jury, made their verdict: not guilty! Revealed to be indeed the correct decision, City girls seem to be in good stead for when jury service comes knocking.
Many thanks to our guest adjudicator, Ruth Whittaker, from King's College, for her feedback for the barristers. Thanks also to Mr FitzGerald for his efforts in the creation and organisation of such a creative mock trial.
Jolie, Year 11
