On Saturday 9 November, three Year 6 girls represented CLSG in The Lord Mayor’s Show joining the City of London Corporation’s ‘Family of City Schools’ under the banner, ‘Excellence in Education Throughout the Ages’.
Eleanor, Allegra and Elizabeth, along with some 150 other organisations, paraded from London Wall to St Clement Danes in the Strand. Splendid in their uniforms with their ‘CLSG 125 Anniversary’ badges glinting in the morning sunlight, the girls were immediately in front of: the Band of HM Royal Marines Commando Training Centre, the Royal Navy, the Royal Navy Reserves, 45 Commando Royal Marines and Royal Marines Reserve (City of London).
The girls enjoyed a wonderful morning celebrating the City’s 692nd Lord Mayor of London, Alderman William Russell (whose half-brother happens to be the British actor Damian Lewis). An interesting point of interest in the official programme was an article written by former CLSG Head Girl, Kate Pesenti, who was part of this year’s editorial intern team.
