Award winning author, Penny Joelson, who has written two shortlisted and award winning novels for young people, visited us on Wednesday 5 June.
Penny told Year 7 and 8 that she was an avid reader as a child and was once so busy reading she was locked in the Library. Her YA novel, “I Have No Secrets”, features a narrator with cerebral palsy.
Her new novel, “Girl In the Window", is a thrilling page-turner and has recently won the North Eastern Book Award. Penny was also able to give us some insight in to how a book is printed, as she had visited the company which published her book. Penny very kindly answered questions and signed everyone’s books before leaving to work on her third novel.
