Gymnasts Qualify for National Finals

On Sunday 17 March, 26 Novice Gymnasts competed in the British Schools' Gymnastics Association Floor and Vault competition.

In the morning, the Level 1 & 2 Gymnasts competed.  These teams have been working hard since December on their routines for this competition.  The U13 Level 1 & 2 teams both took the Gold in their respective categories, the U11 Level 1 team won Silver and the U9 Level 1 team won Bronze.  This was many of the girls’ first ever competition, with over 200 gymnasts taking part.  Well done to everyone involved!

In the afternoon the Level 3 team competed.  This is for school-level gymnasts who train fewer hours than the Regional Gymnasts, but they are still able to qualify for National Finals in the Novice Category if they finish in 1st or 2nd place. The four girls in Year 7 performed a floor, vault and a pair routine. They finished in 2nd place behind Streatham & Clapham. Both teams will go through to represent London in the National Finals in June. Huge congratulations to Allegra, Mei, Rishon and Caitlin.
