Girls Success at the Kids' Lit Competition

On Thursday 28th November, students from Year 7 & 8 competed in the Kids' Lit Quiz, a literature competition for children aged 10 to 13. The quiz has heats in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Canada, USA, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, and winning teams qualify for national and world finals. In 2010, CLSG won the World title held that year at the Edinburgh Book Festival.

On Thursday 28th November, students from Year 7 & 8 competed in the Kids' Lit Quiz, a literature competition for children aged 10 to 13. The quiz has heats in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Canada, USA, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, and winning teams qualify for national and world finals. At the 2013 North London Heat, one of the largest in the competition, 27 teams took part, with CLSG represented by two teams of four girls each. The results are as follows:
CLSG Team A: First Place (92 Points)
CLSG Team B: Second Place (85 points)



The first placed team received a silver cup, a certificate and £80 of book tokens, and the second placed team received £60 of book tokens and a certificate. During the evening, the girls also won several team and spot prizes for individual contributions.

All girls involved must be commended on this fantastic achievement and we look forward to eharing about the next stage of the competition!
