VEX IQ Invitation Robotics Competition

The City of London VEX IQ Invitation event was held on Monday 4 February. 15 teams from CLSG were joined by two teams from Sir John Cass Primary, to participate in a regional robotics competition. The day was coordinated by our Sixth Form and Year 10 robotics teams, who managed the day with great efficiency and energy.

There were 68 qualifying matches, over 40 robotic skills challenges, and nine final matches spread over six hours of competition. It was a hard-fought competition, and all the teams made a really good effort with some excellent designs, great teamwork and City of London Girls' spirit.

Kinematics won the Robot Skills Challenge as well as winning the Teamskills Champions Award with Trial and Error. Mission Apollo and Team Skittles were close runners up. The Design Award went to Probots! from the Prep School. The two Sir John Cass Primary teams shared the Judges' Prize. Our winning robotics teams, Kinematics and Trial and Error, qualify for the National Finals in Telford in early March.
