On 1 and 2 October, nine girls took part in a field day trip to Portsmouth. The students visited the historic dockyard and toured HMS Victory, where Admiral Lord Nelson was injured and died, as well as action stations. They stayed on-board HMS Bristol, a Destroyer that has seen action in the Falkland Islands.
On the Tuesday, they all went out on either yachts or large powerboats to put into practice the navigation and passage planning they have been learning in the classroom throughout the year. Year 9 will have the opportunity to join the CCF after half term.
