On Wednesday 11 October, after a great start to the training season, both the junior girls' (Year 7 and 8) and the inter girls' (Year 9 and 10) cross country squads took part in the first round of the English Schools Cross Country Cup (ESAA).
The round took place at Alleyn's School, which worked in our favour as this was a fast and flat course, something the squad are used to with training on the Barbican High Walks and at Mile End Stadium. The squads were nervous but ready to run and the results were as follows:
Junior Girls: 2nd place only two points behind the winning team Alleyn's School.
Inter Girls: 1st place with a great lead, 14 points ahead of the 2nd place team Sydenham High School.
These placings mean that both teams have now reached the Regional Finals, which will be held on Saturday 11 November. Good luck for the next round.
