On Thursday 22 June, Upper One represented CLSG at the annual City of London Armed Forces Flag Raising Ceremony at Guildhall. There were many people present and we listened to a band playing, after which the flag was raised to remember all those who are serving in the armed forces around the world and, particularly, those connected with the City of London.
The Lord Mayor, Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley gave a speech followed by Major General Ben Bathurst CBE (General Officer Commanding London District and Major General Household Division).
It was a lovely event and afterwards we went for tea in the Guildhall. We had delicious sandwiches, cakes and scones as well as tea using cups and saucers. Some people came up to speak to us and the Major General said he will invite us to some other events.
Thank you to the Guildhall Events Teams for organising such a wonderful occasion and to Mrs Sylvia Moys for looking after us.
