Junior House Debate

Year 8 students took part in the Junior House Debate on Wednesday, when they were asked to argue whether the scientist is more important that the artist.

The debate was won by Ward, with Selina and Jolie arguing that the scientist is more important. Second place was secured by Fleet, with Niamh and Isabel also supporting that proposal. Third place was awarded to Tudor, with Shifra and Stella opposing the motion and advocating the arts. St Bride finished in fourth place,  also advocating the arts. Their house was represented by Maria, the only Year 7  in the debate, and Himaaya, who had never debated before. Both girls presented convincing arguments.

Congratulations to all of the girls who took part. The standard of the debate was particularly good and all teams made excellent contributions. Participating in the London Debating League has clearly improved their debating skills. Special thanks to the Senior Debating girls who judged the debate: Anahita, Ysabel, Eugena and Annie.
