The school hosted a Q&A session with seasoned actress and politician Glenda Jackson (CBE) on Wednesday.
The session was organised by Head of English, Mr Ward, following an A Level English Literature trip to see Glenda perform as King Lear at The Old Vic last year. Editors of the school magazine quizzed the actress on both her acting and political career.
One of the editors of the magazine, Anya (Year 13), said: "Glenda was as spirited as we had hoped she would be. Her critiques of contemporary society were incandescent, characterised by a sharp sense of wit. She eloquently and extensively discussed her interpretation of one of Shakespeare’s grandest parts; provoked laughter with her quips; and even offered some stirring advice. It was a privilege and a pleasure to meet her."
You can read a full account of Glenda's visit in this year's School Magazine, which will be published later in the year.
