We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, well qualified and highly committed graduate possessing excellent language and literary skills, capable of teaching History from Year 7 to Advanced level.
History is a popular and successful department with five full-time members of staff. All girls in Years 7, 8 and 9 study History, following a course that shadowed the previous National Curriculum. The majority of girls in Years 10 and 11 take History to GCSE and study IGCSE. History is a popular choice at A-level with typically over 30 girls studying either Modern World History or Early Modern History.
The part-time teacher of History should make a positive contribution to good practice in the school by generating enthusiasm for the work in his/her department, building good relationships with colleagues, parents and girls and by encouraging and establishing high standards in the teaching and learning of History. The person appointed will be an excellent communicator with good leadership and inter-personal skills, capable of communicating his/her enthusiasm for history to students and teachers alike.
Appointments are subject to satisfactory references, the receipt of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate and medical clearance. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. The School has a generous salary this post which reflects the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
