One of the happy byproducts of virtual learning is that students are no longer bound by form group bubbles, allowing them to socialise more easily across class and year-group boundaries. This is exactly what stood out to year 7 Sienna about last week’s Year 7 Challenge, which brought together students from each form into groups to imagine they were stranded on a desert island.
“Each group was given a number of challenges and we had to create a PowerPoint presentation with our findings… We also had to devise an escape plan which would allow us return home safely. My group decided that in fact we would quite like to stay on the island, at least until Covid is finally gone! It was a fun morning, gave us all a well-earned break from lessons and we also forged new friendships.”
