Race Equality Review published

Last autumn, together with City of London School, we commissioned an independent reviewer to scrutinise every aspect of school life through the lens of race equality.

This was led by Elizabeth Prochaska QC, a leading equality and human rights barrister.  While it is heartening that this review found staff and students describe the two schools as cohesive, open and welcoming, we were unsurprised that it makes a range of recommendations across broad areas of school life.  In many of these areas, the issue had already been identified and work had already begun. We had begun scrutinising our curriculum and monitoring our admissions and recruitment more rigorously, and that work will continue. Issues will also be addressed through the PSHEE programme. We shall be appointing a diversity and inclusion lead to our senior management team, and there will also be a governor with specific responsibility for this area. You can read the review here
