Netball News Roundup

The annual house netball tournaments for years 7 and 8 took place this week, with Ward and St. Bride respectively emerging victorious. Further up the school, meanwhile, one player has been selected to train with a netball academy.

Year 7 and 8 house netball

"As the teams gathered expectantly on the courts" year 7 player Sienna writes, "we noticed the absence of spectators; social distancing meant no one would be there to observe the tense combat.  St Bride scored early goals with skilful passing. Fleet showed superb defending, while Tudor exhibited sharp shooting.  But after a fast and furious round of matches and in spite of the very stiff competition, Ward merged victorious    Everyone cheered the winners and the winners saluted their valiant foes in the style of true sportsmanship"

House netball was a really fun event to which we were all really looking forward. It was a great opportunity to practise our netball skills and compete against other houses. Everyone played very well and had a great time.
