It might have looked a little different to previous years but the Life After City talks are back! The first session took place on Wednesday 30 September, when around 500 students and staff tuned in via Teams to learn about the world of work post-education from one of three speakers with very different professional perspectives.
Speaker 1: Judith Cobham-Lowe’s portfolio career has seen her do everything from teaching Mohawk Indians on the US/Canada border to starting up a corporate strategy consultancy. In her session, Judith also touched on how women and men behave and be treated differently in the workplace and how that can affect your career.
Speaker 2: Elizabeth Scott has worked in London museums her entire career, as Exhibitions Manager at the Imperial War Museum; Head Curator at the London Transport Museum; and now Head of Guildhall Galleries, a role she has held since 2017.
Speaker 3: CLSG alum Natalie Yeo (pictured) didn’t take a traditional route into software engineering. After trying her hand at management consulting and Fintech, it was a coding bootcamp that helped land her first software developer role at RVU. Natalie spoke about making career decisions, as well as what it's like to work as a software developer.
