Inside the Covid classroom: Biology on film

t’s great to see so many departments taking advantage of home environments to try out innovative ways to learn. In Biology, for instance, students have been creating short films to illustrate biological processes.

Year 8 students captured the emulsification of lipids (or in this case, sunflower oil) in the duodenum (a kitchen glass), using bile (a squeeze of fairy liquid)! Year 9 student Sylvie, meanwhile, swapped pen and paper for camera and, er, lentils to create a charming stop motion video on the menstrual cycle – clearly a girl with her finger on the pulse(s).
