Head Girl Ishara has already been busy in her new role. On 26 April, she compered the Q+A with barrister, human rights activist, and politician Shami Chakrabarti, following the latter's insightful City@6 address.
Chakrabarti used her speech to pose a challenge to all CLSG students listening: what if their generation seized post-pandemic life as an opportunity to shape the world, much like the 1945 generation did post-war? As necessary temporary restrictions on civil liberties recede, for instance, she imagined we might learn to treasure and protect hard-won rights and freedoms we had previously taken for granted. You can watch her hopeful vision in full here.
Next in the City@6 schedule is a Q&A with Lucy Moss, the creator of Six the Musical (a reimagining of Tudor history in which Henry VIII's wives sing their own stories) on 10 May. Use this link on the day to join, and read more about Lucy Moss and future City@6 dates on our flyer.
