City of London

School for girls

Gymnastics at City continues to go from strength to strength and with the introduction of Cheerleading club last year, the squads have been trying their hand at new skills. There are squads in all age groups for gymnastics, plus a Gym Club which is open for any girls to attend.

End of Season Report – Summer 2015

Just before the Easter holidays the U14 and U19 teams took part in the London Schools Group and Acrobatics Competition.

For the first time we were able to enter an A and B team in both age groups to give some girls the experience of group competition and our older girls the opportunity to compete one last time for City.

Final results from the day were a well-deserved Bronze medal for the U19B team and the U14A team placed in silver medal position and won a spot to compete at the National Finals in Stoke on Trent.

The girls were delighted to go to Stoke and performed a wonderful routine finishing in 10th place overall against teams from all over the country. A lot was learnt from the experience and the girls can’t wait to do better next time!

We also had a return friendly competition with Rowan Prep School, where the girls performed pair routines. Congratulations to Maayan Radus and Grace Perry who placed 6th and to all the girls competing – Grace Walkington and Phoebe Free, Hannah Stephenson and Maya Tricot and Amina James and Ana Rodriguez Algaba.

A big thank you needs to go to our senior coaches Ellie Wilkins, Mathilda Whitehead and Sacha Berg who were fantastic help in the lead up to the competition and on the day.
