Responding to the Covid-19 crisis
During the Covid-19 crisis, Hardship applications to the Bursary Fund are set to increase. We want the school’s vast range of educational opportunities to continue to be open to our existing girls, even when their family circumstances change.
How to donate
You can now donate online to the school’s bursary fund, for a one-off gift or to create a regular direct debit payment. Gift Aid can also be reclaimed on any donations made online by UK tax payers. Please visit our Just Giving site and you will receive an email confirmation when your gift has been processed.
Send your gift in the post
Simply send your donation to our Development Office, along with a completed copy of our donation form. Please make cheques payable to ‘CLSG Bursary Fund’.

Gift Aid and Match Funding
As the City of London School for Girls Bursary Fund is a charity (number 276251) we can reclaim tax on any gift donated by a taxpayer and your gift will be increased by 25%. Remember to complete the Gift Aid Declaration on the donation form (there is no additional cost to you making a Gift Aid declaration). In addition, the City of London Corporation has agreed to match your gift.
We hope that this will provide greater incentive to make a donation today.
Other Types of Gift
You may feel that the kind of gift you want to make is not suited to the Annual Fund. Perhaps it is a substantial donation for a specific purpose, a bequest in a will or a gift in memoriam. If you wish to discuss options other than those offered through the Annual Fund, or if you would like further information, please contact our development office.
As a result of our fundraising efforts, we are proud to say that we currently have over 100 girls receiving bursary support in the Academic Year 2019/20. We hope to maintain and extend this number, with your help. We know that there are many calls on your generosity, but we know that we offer something special: a chance to realise a talented girl’s abilities and aspirations.
I am most grateful to my benefactors who have enabled me to come to City, as I would not have been able to attend otherwise. I really love City as it is not just a centre of academic excellence but I have also discovered new interests and broadened my horizons through taking part in a variety of the clubs and societies on offer. City stretches me in every area and though I sometimes find the work challenging, I am up for the challenge! I hope to go to university, possibly to read medicine, as I want to do something that makes a difference.Student
It is impossible to do justice to the difference City has made to my life, especially as I would not have been able to attend CLSG without the financial support available to girls like me; I hope in time to repay the great debt I owe to the Corporation and the School.Student
The Pewterers’ Company has for many years provided both practical and financial support for education. It was one of the original founders of the City and Guilds organisation and continues provide a member of Council as well as a Court member for City University. We also sponsor a work experience fellowship for A level science students at the Institute of Neurology. On the financial front, we provide bursaries at a number of schools, including the City of London School for Girls. In this respect, it is a real privilege to be able to provide assistance to some particularly talented students and to help them continue to benefit from all that the school has to offer.Pewterers' Company
