“Teachers instil the confidence to achieve highly, providing the encouragement and support pupils need.”

ISI Report 2015

CLSG is an academically selective school for pupils aged 7 - 18. Pupils enjoy a broad academic curriculum and a wide range of supporting activities, using London as a learning resource.

We are a non-denominational school and our intake is culturally wide-ranging. Through our bursary programme we are also able to offer places to students who would not otherwise be able to attend the school.

Pupils thrive in an environment in which learning is highly valued. Teachers are trained in techniques to make sure all students are given the opportunity to demonstrate their thoughts, opinions and ask questions. Pupils are encouraged to recognise that making mistakes provides opportunities to learn from and are an inevitable part of the learning process. Pupils are given clear targets as to how to improve and are taught how to be self-reflective in a positive and forward looking manner. Pupils learn in a collaborative environment using each other as a learning resource and they are well supported by both their peers and teachers. They can debate and discuss their views with other bright minds who have different perspectives and experiences. They are therefore not only taught subject knowledge but are given ample opportunity to develop skills and cultivate attitudes that will serve them well in their efforts to pursue a fulfilling life as an adult.

All students are prepared for university entrance and encouraged to aim high. Whilst most students apply for UK universities, we are also experienced at supporting students’ applications to overseas universities. Recently, destinations have included USA, Canada, Netherlands and Italy.
