We live in an information age and are able to communicate with each other via television, web, email, radio, print and video media.
At City, girls use ICT creatively and
autonomously. Their eduction within ICT also extends to other areas of

KEY STAGE 3
Girls utilise their individual creativity to develop practical skills. They have access to exciting software, including Photoshop, Premiere Dreamweaver and Flash as well as hardware, which keeps them engaged. The students also use online eLearning systems and mobile technology to promote a culture of life-long learning. The curriculum reflects our changing society; it is relevant, focused, exciting, flexible and future-proof.
GCSE
At GCSE level, students follow the Diploma in Digital Applications (DiDA), a revolutionary paperless qualification from Edexcel. Students critically analyse existing multimedia designs and produce applications of their own, for example collecting individual multimedia elements, such as music, videos, animation or photographs, to create an idiosyncratic new project. Furthermore, students learn the importance of managing, reviewing and testing their work, as well as considering its potential distribution.

|
Sixth Form Year 12 students have the opportunity of updating their skills in all areas of ICT that are relevant to both their A level courses and their future university studies. Students also take part in exciting multimedia projects which, not only provide experience of using cutting technology, but develop transferable skills in areas such as project management and team work. |

Recent Project
The creative Year 7 girls developed ink drawings around the theme of futuristic ecological machines during their Art and ICT lessons. The students then scanned and animate individual elements of their work using the Adobe Flash programme, creating dynamic moving pieces of art. The distinctive, original and imaginative art was displayed at the Barbican Arts Centre, a fantastic achievement for our budding animators. |
