Girls who participate in City's running programme enjoy the varied drills and challenge themselves to better personal best records. Girls have the opportunity to participate in the prestigious London Mini Marathon and the London Schools Cross Country Championships.

2008-9 Success

In January the Cross Country team competed in the Inter Schools Cross Country Championships.  The girls all enjoyed the experience and all ran well.  The junior team came 10th out of 26 schools with Emily and Kitty finishing 25th and 27th out of a field of 164.  Our best results in the intermediate race were from Claudia, who came 19th, and Georgia, who came 25th out of 96. Hannah finished an excellent sixth in the Senior race and has now been invited to run for London in the All-England Championships.

The girls all ran fantastic races and both the Junior and Intermediate teams, finishing in 6th and 2nd place in their respective divisions. One City student finished second in the Intermediate division, and another was close behind in third. Both girls were selected to represent London at the All England Championships in Liverpool.
