City's gymnasts can be seen during lunchtime training sessions tumbling through the air and perfecting team routines in the school's fully equipped gym. This energetic group enjoy have enjoyed success at various regional meets throughout 2008 and are showing fantastic potential for 2008-9.
They also have performed for the school community during a Gym and Dance Display, held every 2 years. In 2006, 135 girls from various age groups took part in this event which showcased their balance, poise and coordination through team and individual displays. 2008 Success:
On Saturday 15th November, a squad of ten U11 City gymnasts competed in the London Region U11 Novice gymnastics Championships.
All girls put in a great performance and were delighted with the results. The A team came 2nd and the B team came 8th out of 13 teams.
City entered the London Schools Carita House, Floor & Vault Championships for the first time and the U16 team won bronze medals. In the pairs events at the London Schools Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships, the U11 and U13 teams won bronze medals, while the U13 team won silver medals. At the London Schools Floor & Vault Team Championships the U11 team won bronze medals the U13 team won silver medals and the U19 team won bronze medals.
