Year 12 student Naomi Wei has returned home victorious after competing in the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) in Zurich this Easter.
Naomi finished 50th among the 168 contestants from 43 countries. The UK team did well again this year coming equal 8th out of 44 participating teams (equal 6th out of 33 official European teams). Read the full UK team EGMO result here.
Naomi's next challenge will be competing in the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad, held in Macedonia from 2nd to 7th May. Naomi was selected for the Balkan team following an intensive selection process at Trinity College Cambridge, where she completed two tests lasting four and a half hours each. Following the Balkan Olympiad, she will attend the UK International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) Squad Training Camp at Tonbridge School, where the UK's team for the IMO final in Brazil will be decided!
