11+ Drama Scholarship Requirements:
Subsequent to the entrance examination, girls who have qualified for an interview and have applied for a drama scholarship may be invited to attend an audition. The scholarship is worth £1,500 per annum for five years.
Each candidate will be asked to learn and perform a speech of no more than 2 minutes from any published play. A short interview with the Director of Drama and the Teacher of Drama will follow. Candidates are asked to discuss their performance and they are expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of the play and the chosen character/s.
Candidates may be asked to perform the speech again under the direction of one of the teachers, and they may be asked questions about their acting career and performances seen in the theatre. Candidates are expected to talk enthusiastically and knowledgeably about acting and theatre.
16+ Drama Scholarship Requirements:
The scholarship is worth £1,500 per annum for two years to a girl studying Drama Studies in the Sixth Form.
Candidates will be required to sit a Theatre Studies examination paper. Girls who have qualified for an interview and have applied for a drama scholarship will be invited to attend an audition and interview.
Each candidate will be asked to learn and perform a speech of no more than 2 minutes from any published play.
A short interview with the Director of Drama and the Teacher of Drama will follow. Candidates are asked to discuss their performance and they are expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of the play and the chosen character(s).
