In Year 10 and 11, girls follow a chosen programme of study for their GCSE courses. Most girls take 9 GCSE examinations, studying a compulsory core of English, English Literature, Mathematics, Science, one modern foreign language and a humanities subject. All girls follow a programme of Personal, Health and Social Education.

Compulsory Core:
  • English
  • English Literature
  • Mathematics
  • Science - either Double Science Award or all 3 Sciences - Biology, Chemistry, Physics

Modern Foreign Languages:

  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • (It is probable that Mandarin will be offered by 2010)

Humanities:

  • Geography
  • History
  • Religious Studies

Creative:

  • Art
  • Design Technology
  • Music

Other subjects:

  • Latin
  • PE
  • Classical Greek can be studied outside the curriculum.

At GCSE, classes in option subjects will be run according to demand and the viability of the final number of students wishing to study a particular subject (usually approximately ten pupils).
