Year 10 and 11 is an important and exciting time for students as they select subjects they wish to study. This enables girls to explore some subjects more fully than was possible in the past.
While Mathematics, English, English Literature and the three Sciences are compulsory, students will be able to select a modern foreign language and a humanity subject as well as two further subjects which reflect personal interest in languages, the humanities or creative subjects. This ensures that girls follow a broad curriculum that will not restrict their choice at Advanced Level.
All girls in Years 10 and 11 also study compulsory non-GCSE courses in Ethics and Religion, Personal, Health and Social Education and Physical Education, as well work experience and Careers Guidance to assist their choice of AS and A2.
In Year 9 students continue with the broad, balanced curriculum they have enjoyed in Years 7 and 8. It is during this year that we support students as they make their GCSE choices in preparation for Year 10.
