Physics, Chemistry and Biology are taught separately from Year 7 and there is plenty of scope for budding scientists to build on their interests from the moment they join the school. In the Big Bang Science Club academic excitement and practical research into such things as rocket building and the best way to cook an egg using only a candle and a piece of cooking foil, encourage plenty of original thinking.
Girls also make use of the rich scientific life of London. In Year 8 they visit a variety of organisations on 'City Girls in Science' day and throughout their school career are able to visit great institutions such as Kew and London Zoo, as well as taking advantage of the many museums and lecture opportunities at the Royal Institution, The Royal Society, Gresham College and local universities.

Chemistry
Students studying Chemistry investigate the
basic structure of matter, theories which surround matter and various interplaying relationships. Students
acquire an understanding of the concepts, principles and applications of Chemistry, enabling them to become confident in a technological world. The subject
can be challenging, but it is also increasingly rewarding once concepts are grasped and then applied in a practical laboratory project.
Physics
Physics students delve past the instinctive wonder we feel when seeing the marvels of our physical universe to learn how the world works. Students
collate knowledge surrounding different areas of the world and investigate various interlinking relationships.
Psychology
This is an interesting, challenging, exciting subject, relevant to everyday life and behaviour. Students
develop a critical understanding of the research methods used in Psychology and gain
an overview of different approaches in psychology.
