Pastoral Care

Excellent pastoral care and support are fundamental to ensuring the girls achieve their best in all areas of school life. City is a close-knit community where the girls are encouraged to look after each other. The School has a diverse social and cultural mix which encourages tolerance, respect, self-confidence and a positive outlook. Every girl has a Form Tutor who looks after her, keeps an eye on her progress and helps her to maximise her potential and enjoy her time at school. Heads of the Preparatory Department, the Lower School, the Upper School and the Sixth Form work with Form Tutors to provide pastoral care and ensure that girls find learning at City a rewarding experience.

Ethos

City of London School for Girls is a non-denominational, independent day school and is a member of the Girls’ Schools Association (GSA). Our aims are implemented through the provision of a wide-ranging, challenging and balanced curriculum which promotes our pupils’ intellectual, practical, creative and aesthetic development, as well as encouraging positive attitudes to health, social and moral and spiritual issues.

Careers

City provides pupils with careers education and guidance to support subject choices, work experience, university entrance requirements and GAP year options as they prepare for life after school. The Careers Office gives girls the tools to understand and experience opportunities within education, training and employment and help them to make informed decisions.
