Welcome to the Preparatory Department

Our pupils enjoy learning a broad range of subjects as well as taking part in a wide spectrum of activities, clubs and trips. These provide them with a solid academic and social grounding within a fun and encouraging setting.

Lucy's Time in the Preps

I have many happy memories of the Prep Department as I enjoyed every minute of my time there. Terms were always action packed and full of fun. I went on lots of exciting school visits, performed in many plays and concerts that we had and all this on top of very varied and interesting lessons with great teachers.

Curriculum

Our curriculum offers a broad, balanced and innovative range of subjects, supplying girls with a firm academic footing that ensures they can maximise their opportunities in senior school and beyond. Have a look at the girls' curriculum and timetable.

Facilities

The Prep Department co-exists with the senior school on the Barbican site. Therefore, girls have the majority of their lessons taught by their classroom teachers with certain lessons taught by specialist teachers from the senior school. They also share the senior school's facilities and have access to the new library, sporting equipment and swimming pool, the music and drama departments.
