October, Ms Gandee, Miss Macko and nineteen City girls departed for a one week exchange to Barcelona. City has been participating in a Year 10 student exchange with Virolai School in Barcelona for the past three years, and each has been a great success; this one was no exception!
During the day we went on excursions in and around Barcelona with our teachers, visiting, amongst others:
We also went to the little seaside town of Sitges and visited Parc Güell, Antoni Gaudí’s famous incomplete housing project which contains the world’s longest bench! I particularly enjoyed the Plaza Cataluña (the city centre) and Las Ramblas, the best-known street in Barcelona, packed with shops, cafes and mime artists.
We spent the evenings with our host families, eating Spanish food, watching Spanish television and chatting with our exchange partners. It was a fantastic cultural experience and I can’t wait until our exchange partners come to London in January as we have all became really good friends!
