Junior debating is the training ground for our competition debaters. Debaters meet weekly and have the opportunity to participate in two annual competitions. Years 7-9 are keen supporters of the form competition as well as the House competition. Senior debating teams participate in the House Debating Competition and frequently enter London and National competitions.
This a very active club with Sixth Formers and staff regularly taking advantage of cheap group rates to attend evening performances. They also go to West End theatres such as, The National, The Almeida, The Courtyard and The King’s Head. Staff and Sixth Formers make suggestions for bookings and see between 8-12 productions a term.
The school magazine is the most important school publication which is produced by girls. In it, we present a comprehensive overview of activities and important events which have occurred during the year, and it is a space to publicly display pupils’ talents in creative writing and art, thus giving an up-to-date insight into the character of the school.
A Sixth Form committee agrees on the magazine design, image and dominant theme. The girls take responsibility for commissioning, editing and proof-reading articles, and for inspiring pupils to submit creative writing and art work for the publication.
