The City of London Old Girls' Association began its life two years after the school started in 1894. The original aim was to provide the means for former pupils to keep in touch with each other and the school.
The aims of CLOGA today have changed very little over the years. It arranges meetings, reunions and outings to places of interest. It produces an excellent magazine each year with contributions from former pupils from all over the world and across the generations. The School is regarded with particular affection by many Old Girls and there are always a number of girls at the School whose mothers and sometimes grandmothers attended the school so the tradition of being educated at City is maintained.
Members of CLOGA are warmly invited to some events at the School and these are advertised both here on the website and in our regular mailings that go out to members. Application for tickets to such events should be sent to the school.
With modern technology a database is being compiled to hold details of all former pupils and it is hoped that this will be helpful in providing career advice for present and past pupils and a better way of keeping in touch with all Old Girls.
With the abolition of the Assisted Places Scheme some very able girls were denied admission to the School. CLOGA aims to raise funding for scholarships and bursaries.
Financial help of a lesser nature is also provided from time to time by the Loan and Gift Fund. This Fund is distributed at the discretion of the Headmistress and has been used in the past to help a girl with expenses for a foreign exchange trip and for a past pupil to go on to a further course of study at University which otherwise she might not be able to pursue.
