Academic Achievements

From the desk of Miss Diana Vernon, Headmistress:

I would like to share my delight at our students' success in public examinations. Once again, City girls have achieved superb results in AS and A Level exams, GCSEs and Key Stage 2 tests and they deserve to be very proud their accomplishments. Whilst we encourage girls to develop in all areas of their lives, their outstanding examination results are proof of the energy and determination that they have put into their studies. I am very proud of their richly deserved achievements.

Highlights at GCSE

This year’s GCSE candidates at City have good reason to be very proud of their achievements. 95.9% of all the results were A/A* grades and 100% of all grades awarded were A* to C grades.

Sixty-four students earned either an A* or A grade for every subject, which is almost 80% of the girls who took GCSE exams this year. Twenty girls were rewarded with straight A* grades, including one student who achieved this tremendous feat across 11 subjects!

Highlights at A Level

This year students taking A level examinations achieved superb results. 94.1% of all the grades awarded to this year’s Upper Sixth were A or B grades.

Of the subjects, sixteen had a clean sweep of A or B grades. We are also delighted to report that 100% of girls who sat examinations in Art, Product Design, French, German, Music, Spanish and Theatre Studies earned A grades.
